‘The Pop-Up Chefs EP’ Vinyl Release on 6 June 2025

The Pop-Up Chefs * release their new limited edition EP of four The Chefs songs – arranged by themselves for two guitars and vocals – on Gare du Nord Records on the 6th June 2025. This follows up the digital release of the EP on the 9th May, which is available on the usual platforms.

* The Pop-Up Chefs are Helen McCookerybook & James McCallum who are siblings and original members of The Chefs. The Chefs were John Peel favourites and recorded two BBC Radio 1 Sessions for him back in the early 1980s.

New album out 17 Jan ’25, on Tiny Global Productions

Helen McCookerybook’s NEW album, Showtunes from the Shadows, will be released on the 17th January 2025 on Tiny Global.
The album has 12 tracks with guest contibutions from Gina Birch, Winston Blissett, Terry Edwards, Jack Hayter, James McCallum, Robert Rotifer, and Lester Square.
Tiny Global Productions are the home of the House Of All, Poppycock, Nightingales, Band Of Holy Joy, Blue Orchids, Stuart Moxham, David Lance Callahan, and Keely to name a few.
It will be her first solo album to be released on Vinyl (also on CD and digital downloads) and can be purchased from Tiny Global’s Bandcamp as well from record shops nationwide including Rough Trade.
Pre-release, Gideon Coe played the album tracks Three Cheers for Toytown on his show (at the time), and Reaching for Hope on Riley & Coe – both shows on BBC Radio 6 Music.
