Punk in the Provinces

On Thursday 23rd November the Punk in the Provinces event at Norwich Arts Centre features a short talk by Helen about the Brighton punk scene, alongside presentations by Professor George Mackay, author Richard Balls, Professor Matthew Worley, Dr Lucy Wright and Jonty Young. Start time is 6 p.m. and the cost is £1.00.

Women of the World

The full-band version of the song ‘Women of the World’ from Helen’s album ‘the Sea’ is currently being remixed before being uploaded to Bandcamp to raise money for song copyrights for the film documentary ‘Stories from the She-Punks: music with a different agenda’ that Gina Birch and Helen are co-producing. The band features author Zoe Howe on drums, and a 14-piece choir with virtual contributions from singers from as far afield as Ullapool and Ullswater adding to the London session that included Gina, Shanne from the Nipple Erectors, Karen from the Gymslips, Kat from Feral Five, Stephen Foster-Pilkington, and more.
